Tomb Kings rise again in The Old World, with a new Arcane Journal
Games Workshop has shown a Tomb Kings skeleton army box for Warhammer: The Old World, plus Arcane Journal: The River of Bones, which brings new options for Wood Elves too.
Tomb Kings players, this one's for you. In a Sunday Preview on 18 October 2026, Games Workshop showed what's coming next for Warhammer: The Old World: a big box of undead for the Tomb Kings of Khemri, a new Arcane Journal, and some extras for the dice-and-cards crowd. Designers' notes followed on 23 October.
The skeleton host
The Host of Nehekhara Army Reinforcement Set for Tomb Kings of Khemri is, as the name suggests, all about numbers. Games Workshop lists:
- 36 Skeleton Warriors
- 36 Skeleton Archers
- 6 Skeleton Chariots
There are options for champions, musicians and standard bearers, so the ranks don't all have to look the same. Games Workshop says it's only available while stocks last.
Arcane Journal: The River of Bones
The Arcane Journal brings new Armies of Infamy for both Tomb Kings and Wood Elves, along with more magic item options. It also covers rules for Gargantuan Treemen in Wood Elf armies, which is good news if you've had a Treeman waiting for a proper role. We're not reproducing any rules here; if you want the detail, the designers' notes are on Games Workshop's site.
And the small stuff
A set of Tomb Kings Dice and Cards is also on the way: 20 bone-white dice and 54 reference cards. Games Workshop says that's a stocks-only release too.
What we don't know yet
The preview article treats these as the following week's releases, but we haven't seen an exact date, and there's no price in Games Workshop's announcement either. We'd rather tell you that than guess.
