These terms apply to everyone who uses legiongaming.co.uk. By using the site you agree to them. If you buy something, our terms of sale apply too. If you have a painter profile, our painter terms apply too.
1. About us
Legion Gaming is a trading name of Legion Comps Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17307226. Our registered office is Unit A 82 James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE, United Kingdom. Contact us at hello@legiongaming.co.uk or on 0800 000 0000.
2. Using the site
2.1 You can browse the site, and buy from the shop as a guest, without an account. To use the Report button you need an account. To have a painter profile you must meet the conditions in our painter terms, including being 18 or over.
2.2 Keep your password safe and don't share your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
2.3 We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site. We'll try to give notice if a change affects something you rely on, such as access to your downloads (see our terms of sale).
2.4 We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we can't promise it will always be free of errors or interruptions.
3. Our content
3.1 We, or the people who license material to us, own the rights in the site and its content, apart from user content (section 4) and the third-party brands described in section 6.
3.2 You can view and print pages for your own personal use. You mustn't copy, scrape or republish the site or its content for any other purpose without our written permission.
4. User content
4.1 "User content" means anything users put on the site: painter profiles, portfolio images and descriptions, price tiers, reviews, replies and reports.
4.2 The person who posts user content is responsible for it. We check painter profiles, portfolio pieces, price tiers and review replies before they appear, but checking doesn't mean we endorse the content, and we don't promise that what painters say about themselves is accurate.
4.3 Rules for user content are in section 5. We can refuse, remove or restrict any user content that breaks them, and suspend or close the account of anyone who breaks them (see section 9).
5. Acceptable use and content policy
5.1 When you use the site, you must not:
- break the law, or help anyone else to;
- post or link to illegal content (see 5.3);
- harass, threaten, bully, impersonate or abuse anyone;
- post anyone's personal information (such as their address or phone number) without their permission;
- post spam, scams or misleading information;
- try to get into accounts, systems or data that aren't yours, or interfere with how the site works (including viruses, overloading it, or scraping it with automated tools);
- use the site to advertise anything other than what our rules allow.
5.2 Painter profiles and portfolio pieces must:
- show only work you painted yourself. If someone else helped (for example, with assembly or a base), say so;
- use only photos you took or have permission to use;
- describe your work and your prices honestly. A price tier must be a price you'd really charge;
- make true claims only. Only mention awards, titles or qualifications you can prove;
- be suitable for a general audience. Battle damage, blood effects and dark themes from the hobby's settings are fine on miniatures. Nudity, sexual content and realistic gore are not.
5.3 Content we never allow, and will remove and may report to the police or other authorities:
- child sexual abuse material, or any sexualised content involving children;
- terrorist content, or content promoting violence;
- content that stirs up hatred on grounds of race, religion, sexual orientation, disability or gender identity, or real-world extremist symbols (including "in-universe" uses of them);
- threats, harassment, stalking or intimate images shared without consent;
- fraud, or offers to sell illegal or counterfeit goods;
- anything that encourages self-harm or suicide.
5.4 Intellectual property. Don't post anything that infringes someone else's rights (see sections 6 and 7).
6. Games Workshop and other brands
6.1 Legion Gaming is an independent retailer and painting community. We aren't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Games Workshop Limited, or by any other manufacturer whose products we sell or whose models painters show here.
6.2 Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, Citadel, Games Workshop and their associated names, logos, images and trade marks belong to Games Workshop Limited. Other brand names belong to their owners. We and our users use them only to describe genuine products and painted models accurately.
6.3 In your user content, you may:
- show photos of models you've painted, including Games Workshop models;
- name the game, army, faction or kit (for example, "Space Marine Intercessors for Warhammer 40,000").
6.4 You must not:
- use Games Workshop's (or any other company's) logos, box art, artwork, official photography or rules text;
- say or suggest that you, your work or Legion Gaming are official, licensed, approved or endorsed by Games Workshop or any other brand owner. Don't use phrases like "official Warhammer painter" or "Games Workshop approved";
- show, offer or advertise recasts, counterfeit models or unlicensed copies of anyone's sculpts. That includes 3D prints or printable files copied from a manufacturer's models;
- use a brand owner's name as your display name or trading name, or in a way that could be confused with the brand.
7. If you think content infringes your rights
If you own the rights in something posted on our site and you didn't give permission, tell us (see 8.2), with: what the content is and where it is, what rights you own, and your contact details. We'll look into it promptly and remove the content if it infringes. We'll tell the person who posted it, and they can respond.
8. Reporting content
8.1 Signed in? Use the Report button on any painter profile, portfolio piece or review. Choose a reason and add any details that will help us.
8.2 Not signed in, or don't have an account? Email hello@legiongaming.co.uk with "Report" in the subject line. Tell us the page address, what's wrong and, if you'd like a reply, how to contact you. You don't need an account to report content, including if the content is about you.
8.3 What happens next. A member of our team reviews every report. We aim to look at reports of illegal content, or of risk to anyone's safety, within 24 hours, and other reports within 3 working days. If content breaks the law or these terms, we remove or restrict it. We may also suspend the account that posted it. Where we need to, we report illegal content to the police or other authorities. If you're signed in, or gave us contact details, we'll tell you what we decided.
8.4 If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
9. Complaints about content and our decisions
9.1 You can complain to us if:
- you've reported content and think we got it wrong, or haven't dealt with it;
- we removed or restricted your content, or suspended your account, and you think we were wrong;
- you think we're not meeting our duties under the Online Safety Act 2023.
9.2 Use our complaints form and choose "Content or moderation", or email hello@legiongaming.co.uk with "Content complaint" in the subject line. Say what decision you're complaining about and why.
9.3 Someone who wasn't involved in the original decision will review it. We'll tell you the outcome and our reasons. If we decide we were wrong, we'll put it right: for example, by restoring your content or account, or by removing the content you reported.
9.4 We don't use automated tools to make moderation decisions. People make them.
9.5 If you're unhappy with how we've handled your complaint, you can tell Ofcom, the online safety regulator (ofcom.org.uk). Ofcom doesn't handle individual complaints, but it uses what it hears to decide where to act.
10. Suspending and closing accounts
10.1 We can suspend or close your account, or remove access to features, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other users or the site. Unless the law or someone's safety prevents it, we'll tell you why and how you can complain (section 9).
10.2 Closing your account doesn't affect your rights under any purchase you've made. Our terms of sale explain what happens to your downloads.
10.3 You can close your account at any time by contacting us.
11. Links to other sites
Where the site links to other websites, we don't control them and aren't responsible for them.
12. Our responsibility to you
12.1 We don't exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and fraud.
12.2 If you're a consumer, we only supply the site for domestic and private use, and we're not responsible for loss of profit, loss of business or business opportunities. Our responsibility for your purchases is set out in our terms of sale.
12.3 We aren't responsible for what users post, beyond the steps described in these terms.
13. Your privacy
We use your personal data as described in our privacy notice.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll show the date of the latest version at the top. If a change significantly affects you, we'll tell you before it takes effect.
15. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in the courts there.
