Reviews help you choose a painter. This policy explains who can leave a review, what we publish, how we check reviews, and what to do if you think one is wrong.
1. Who can leave a review
1.1 Only customers who have completed a commission with a painter through Legion Gaming can review that painter. Commissions aren't open yet, so there are no customer reviews on the site yet.
1.2 You can leave one review per commission. You can't review a painter you haven't commissioned through us.
1.3 Painters can't review themselves, and can't review other painters.
2. What a review must be
A review must:
- be about your own, genuine experience of that commission;
- be honest. Opinions are welcome, including critical ones;
- follow our content policy: no abuse, threats, personal information, or illegal content;
- not be written, bought or arranged by the painter or anyone connected with them;
- tell readers if you were given anything in return for writing it (see section 4).
3. What we publish, and how
3.1 We publish every review that follows this policy, whether it's positive or negative. We don't hide, delay or edit reviews because they're critical.
3.2 Each review shows the reviewer's display name, the rating (1 to 5), the text and the date.
3.3 Every review on the site is from a verified customer: we know they completed a commission with that painter. Each review is labelled "Verified customer".
3.4 Reviews are shown newest first. A painter's average rating is worked out from all their published reviews. We don't leave any out, and we don't give extra weight to any.
3.5 Painters can't edit, remove or reorder reviews. They can publish one reply to each review, which we check before it goes live.
3.6 We don't publish reviews copied from other websites.
4. Incentives
4.1 Neither we nor painters will offer anything (money, discounts, free products, entries or anything else) in return for a positive review, or for changing or removing a review.
4.2 If we ever offer something for leaving a review at all, whatever it says, we'll make that clear, and every review given in return for it will be labelled.
5. How we check reviews
5.1 Our checks include:
- linking every review to a real, completed commission;
- looking for warning signs, such as a painter and reviewer who seem to be connected, reviews posted in a rush, or similar wording across reviews;
- investigating reports from customers and painters.
5.2 If we find a fake review, or one that hides an incentive, we remove it. If a painter was involved, we may suspend or close their profile. We keep a record of what we found and what we did.
5.3 We only hide a review for a reason set out in this policy, and we record the reason. Reasons include: it's fake; it hides an incentive; it isn't about the commission; it breaks our content policy; or the law requires it. We'll tell the reviewer that we've hidden it and why.
5.4 We review how well these checks are working at least once a year, and after any serious problem.
6. Reporting a review
6.1 If you think a review is fake, misleading or breaks this policy, use the Report button next to it, or email hello@legiongaming.co.uk with "Review report" in the subject line.
6.2 We'll look into every report. If the review breaks this policy, we'll remove it. If it doesn't, we'll leave it up, even if the painter disagrees with it.
6.3 If you disagree with what we decided, you can complain using our complaints form.
7. Painters
Painters agree to these rules in our painter terms. They mustn't write, buy or arrange reviews, offer incentives for good ones, or pressure customers to change or remove reviews.
